  Considering the Palestinian socio-political climate (i.e. the occupation), it is unfair to expect any story developed there to be devoid of the effects of the occupation in the lives of people. Palestinian cinema is, as expected, primarily revolving around the Israeli occupation and the Palestinian struggle for liberation, and even films that don't focus primarily on that, are still affected by the politics -- as are the lives of all Palestinians, after all.
