i LOVE when movies incorporate unique fantasy species that also have a unique survival instinct/tactic when the children surround the mother to hide her and then separate from each other to confuse the attackers, sort of like when bees buzz there wings when attached to an invading wasp that then causes so much heat that the wasp dies, but instead of harming the attackers they simply confuse!!
the turkey teeth was also a great characteristic of the dictator cause anyone with veneers is evil or from LA.
