The humor of O’Connor is what brings me back to her stories. Many of O’Connor’s stories have the cleaver irony of a response to an unwelcome retort. The film by depicting O’Connors life inter-spliced with adaptations of her short stories, wants to show us what each story is responding to. Be it faith, illness, or civil rights, O’Connor has something to say. Never too complex but always cleverly mean, like all good comebacks.
