  Aesthetically perfect, this movie looks uniquely beautiful and haunting. However, because the visuals hyped me up so much, I ended up disappointed with the writting. It's boring, the dialogue is weird, the story just doesn't do it for me in any way.

  There are few movies as touching as The Tale of Princess Kaguya. It's message on the love you can find in the simplest things hits me everytime I re-watch it, which I have many, many times (and cried in every single one of them).

  There's also themes of freedom, specially relating to women's freedom. The scene where Kaguya is assaulted by the prince makes me uncomfortable in a way I can't begin to describe, and the scene where she runs…
