    Miyazaki's most surreal film, and one of his darkest. The innocence of early Ghbili, of Totoro and Kiki, feels gone, replaced by a mature meditation on death and grief. The images on display are grotesque and macabre as often as beautiful.
    Slow-paced and full of the loose dream logic we've come to expect from Miyazaki since Spirited Away, but it's still utterly brilliant.
