The weird part of this movie is that despite it being an adaptation of a musical it had a lot of elements borrowed from the 1985 movie. The music is good though.

Newsies 1992
This movie came out before the musical, so the lack of music in this one is understandable. I prefer the music (both the timing and lyrics) found in the musical, and there is something lacking with the Pulitzer scenes when he isn’t singing. I prefer the story of this one. I know it’s basically the same, but this movie has a seperate character for the journalist and love interest. I prefer this and it works better to have the journalist be an established journalist before writing this piece.
