Beau Is Afraid 2023
This is a stressful watch.
I can't say I "enjoyed" the movie much, but it was fascinating and skillfully filmed.
I agree with Breakfast All Day that Phoenix's character was way too one note, though. You kind of stop caring about the series of unfortunate events when you are not invited to get to know the main character.
Regardless, it was an interesting and ambitious attempt by the director. Feels very Art housey.
Also, it's a bit too long.

This story goes places! The plot is ridiculous and cliched in all the right ways. Self aware, with great jokes as the connective tissue holding it all together. Cage and Pascal are amazing with great chemistry here. Loved it!
