Happy-Go-Lucky 2008
I remember watching this movie when I was in high school and it completely changed the way I thought movies could be, it was literally that movie for me. Sally Hawkins will forever be Poppy for me and her love of life is so infectuous - but not for everyone as we come to see. Mike Leigh is so so subtle, and really not so subtle at all. He tells a story as it is. I really don’t know how else to say it. I’m glad I watched it again.

Can’t think of much to say other than thanks Lee Isaac Chung — that just pulled every heartstring and some I didn’t even know where there. Also, there’s always something about seeing a character with your name (David) that makes everything he does so much more relatable.
