  i read the book first, i think this is a much better version though. the girls actually have a life of some sort on screen, they’re not just characters in the boys’ fantasies. i still think that much more could be done with the story in general, like it could be longer and do more character study, but as is, the movie is pretty good. also the soundtrack is good af

  This movie is weird. At times it feels like a Harold Lloyd/Charlie Chaplin slapstick comedy. At others it’s actually pretty cool. And then at other times, I’m blinded by the offensive amount of glare used at every possible opportunity. (That one scene where John and Lara are talking outside the cottage. It’s a wonder that my eyes still work.)
