You Nazty Spy! 1940
The 1st anti-Nazi comedy in the USA, predating THE GREAT DICTATOR by 9 months. Powerful businessmen in the fictional European country of Moronika are upset that their munitions companies aren’t profitable any more. They depose the pacifist king and install Moe as a puppet dictator. Most of the comedy still holds up well. But the current political climate makes this an uncomfortable watch. It’s honestly more insightful political satire than current SNL.
