Burning 2018
i read the murakami story before viewing, his obsession with cuckoldry and transparent homosocial tendencies work in his favor here. watched midday after skipping class because of some horrible incessant cough. film made me stop coughing. film made me say "Sigma" out loud upon it's conclusion. beautiful confrontation of the modern sexual non relationship and the strange consumptive global capitalist discourse as it manifests in south korea.

Came into this totally blind just flipping through criterion ; Gary Oldman is very hot and disturbed in this i really appreciate his squealing & age regression & crawling around on the floor ; also the trains and autism representation that's not infantilised but on the side of the sadistic superego is rare 5/5
