i don’t even use letterboxd anymore, but had to come to vent. seeing so many positive reviews is wild. shock value doesn’t equal the evocation of emotion, this movie is a prime example of how it actually detracts from it and disorientates the viewers emotional attachment to the story, characters, and events. these shock value moments ruin the momentum of audience engagement, and continuesly force the viewer to catch up.
