This was great fun. Watching Wicked I was reminded of how popular MGM musicals starring like, Doris Day were in the 50s. When this All Singing, All Dancing stuff is good, it's great. It's the art of crowd pleasing distilled into a science.

The passage of time is palpable in Ashes and Diamonds. By the end you feel like you've lived a night in the main character's head, as he torments himself over which direction in life he wants to go in. A great and poignant film.

An underappreciated spectacle of otherworldly concepts and designs. It's an experience where you can just sit back and immerse yourself in the fully realized imagination of the artists who worked on it. Scenes like the shuttlecraft approaching The Enterprise, The Enterprise travelling through the space cloud and Spock entering the inner chamber of V'ger's ship: These are all mind blowing sequences accompanied by alien sound design and some of the finest score ever composed.
