Watching this madness I totally understand that some just want to see the world burn alive…, or at least, Israel.

The other thing that is striking is the utmost dumbness the IDF soldiers radiate endlessly wherever they appear. Dumbness as evil.

There is a scene where the main character says the visiting american soldiers were drinking pepsi and the reenactment uses coca cola bottles. I couldn’t ask the director about it, becuase I had a more important question which was concerning how he verified the amazing story of his character. He said he mapped up all the 235 days Saddam was hiding on the farm and accounts coming from different sources chekd out.

Camera gently explores the different aspects and sights of a once-thriving, now decaying mining town somewhere in Georgia: people sleeping in their shabby apartments, miners sharing their lunch, rusty cable cars squeeking up and down a meadow day and night, underfed teenagers preparing for the olympics. The almost heroic endurance of the people shine through the darkness haunting this place and turns the everyday monotony into a thoughtful and worthwhile meditation for the viewer.
