  many can hate on its more basic plot line, yet the relationship between lady & her mother is something so beautifully captured by greta. there is something inside of lady bird that everyone can somehow relate to, which is something special.

  the way this film is highly under-appreciated breaks my heart. darren uses such beautiful symbolism to capture a breathtaking scene filled with terror, anger, pain, lust & death. darren understands the power of symbolism & storytelling, and has used his knowledge in these fields to create a beautiful picture of not only the corrupt race we are & the beautiful planet that we reside in, but also the relationship between a mother & her child- and the world that the mother has to protect it from.

  this film has many layers and yet, unlike Mulholland Drive, they are pictured quite clearly. david understands the evil capabilities of humans and explains this well in Blue Velvet, controversially known as his finest piece of work. a bit quiet to some but the symbolism used throughout speaks loud enough.
