    "I'm not queer."

    "I know."

Luca Guadagnino's adaptation of Burroughs' novella Queer is a landscape of desire that doesn't shy away from portraying the more darker, drab side of queerness. The film is to me, first and foremost, a portrayal of loneliness, ever present in those deemed social outcasts. Loneliness so inescapable, so ingrained in the queer experience that it carries onto present time.

But there is beauty to it, represented in the long glances and skin-on-skin contact, beauty in…

It took me almost a whole week to write this review because I've just been thinking about how to fit all my thoughts into a nearly formatted document. I don't think I can, even still. This is my first attempt at doing so.

I'd like to start by saying - without doxxing myself - a lot of the scenes were filmed where my family is from. The restaurant scene is the very same restaurant I used to go with my…

Finally caved and watched this... not nearly as bad as I thought it would be but that might just be my Hugh Grant bias.

Making Wonka a twink (and a theater gay...) is such an inspired choice that am not sure I support although I for some reason felt like his character was supposed to be British.

The songs are mostly alright. I can definitely tell this was made by the same director as Paddington but this is kind of patchy and unremarkable where Paddington is touching and much more entertaining.

I think calling this film an "episode of Riverdale" is a disservice to Riverdale

Messy and somehow really predictable as well. I'll try to review it without spoiling the whole film but some major plot points go completely unresolved to the point where it feels as though they threw away the script mid-shoot.

The budget must've gone into the music which is surprisingly great yet ill fitting for most of the scenes (I mean, CAN's Vitamin C in a pharmacy?…

If you watch this movie expecting to learn something about the titular character, you're in the wrong place.

Mikey Madison is terrific but even her performance could not bring the character to life. The line between her personal life and her work is nonexistent - I'd go as far as to say, we don't get to know her as a person at all. We don't know where she came from, what drives her, what are her interests, why she's working…

Wacky science-fiction comedy that, although funny, didn't really click with me and it's one of Bong Joon Ho's weakest films.

If am being honest, the only reason am not giving this 3 stars are the performances. Robert Pattinson was just incredible, his character work is amazing. Loved Naomi Ackie as Natasha. Mark Ruffalo and Toni Colette as a couple - both great, elevated the film by a lot.

    The script... well, let's just say I was expecting a character-driven comedy.…
