The Last Showgirl 2024
A shining diamond of a woman’s youth slowly losing its shimmer, Shelly and the viewer are reminded that that stone at the end of the day is still a precious one. One that’s broken edges still cut when grasped too hard and can shine concurrently.
Vocational pursuits of art and passion, a woman’s agency, ageism, motherhood, to name a few, all woven into the glitzy cloth of The Last Showgirl.

Heretic 2024
Unexpected outcomes and good build up made for a very entertaining watch! Challenging institutions of religion for its hand in manipulating society is almost expected from similar pieces, I was pleasantly surprised at the case the film makes for the authentic sensations of faith and its powers as a viewer primed to criticize it. Watching the two characters see the facades made by pious male leaders/influencers, then engage with their cognitive dissonance, and then challenge those systems/institutions one with faith and one forfeiting it and seeing the outcome was truly interesting.
Oh the dichotomy of it all! lol

Nosferatu 2024
An utterly visceral slayage that left no crumbs.
My goth itch was sufficiently scratched! The costuming, the acting, the set design all beautiful beyond my expectations. Horrific but not relying on jump scares, though there was a few, felt so authentically spooky.
Im very very very happy to have read Dracula by Bram Stoker right before seeing Nosferatu. I knew of the older version of Nosferatu but never watched it but read its pretty similar. Enjoyed seeing the literary themes…
