the truth is that it isn’t a film made for feminists. did it leave much out that needs to be said? yes. but it said more than pretty much every movie ever made that gets this type of attention. i do believe however, that it’s a beautiful film that everyone should watch, as it is crucial and relevant for everyone to understand the basics of feminism, as the belief (at its very core) that women are human beings— autonomous, faceted, and complex— and deserving of the treatment as such.
