The Monkey 2025
I genuinely couldn’t tell whether this movie was so bad it was good or so bad it was bad. There are glimpses of self awareness but at the same time it’s so poorly paced and written in a way that doesn’t quite feel intentional. I found myself laughing harder at its failures than its attempts at being good. That being said, I did have a damn good laugh

I really really really wanted to like this more than I did (the 3.5 stars I’ve given it is a bit of a stretch)
This is basically the plot of James Cameron’s Avatar with a few extra steps, which I don’t mind! I liked the cinematography and score, the cast were brilliant - particularly Robert Pattinson whose performance I would call inspiring.
But the film fools you into thinking it has such a heart and soul but then falls short…
