The Royal Tenenbaums 2001
A depressing story of a con man father and his incredibly disfuctional family set against an amazing soundtrack? Sign me up. You start this this movie thinking it is going to be a comedy about typically eccentric Anderson characters, but it takes a really depressing turn fairly quickly. Despite the dark nature, Anderson doesn't let his characters dwell in the darkness. A terrific movie both visually and storywise.
