i feel like if this film came out during new hollywood, it would’ve had the same effect that heaven’s gate had on the industry at the time. the positive here is, freddy got fingered is a genuine masterpiece. no director has made a film that shows off who they are more than tom green did with freddy got fingered, all because he didn’t want to make some lousy shitty early 2000s dudebro comedy. tom green is our last great auteur, i beg amazon or netflix throw 20mil at him for something soon.
