  The first Bergman film I haven’t enjoyed, really. Pretty much nothing but 90 minutes of depressing monologues. For all the delving into the past, we don’t really get all that much character development beyond “you fucked up my life!!!” This definitely felt like it should have been a play rather than a film, with everyone wearing black turtlenecks and standing on chairs or something. Bergman (the actor) gave a strong performance, but god, I couldn’t wait for this to be over.
