  The first half of Close is very strong as it depicts toxic masculinity, how early this culture starts and its grave consequences. How a healthy relationship between two boys in a second can turn into something hostile and how we so easily abandon who we are, all because of the need to fit in.
  The second half explores grief and guilt and abandons the discussion about masculinity which sadly leaves something to be desired, at least for me.
