The violence is childish, the acting overdone, and the script runs entirely on exposition, but surprisingly, none of these things are my biggest complaint.   Do you ever sit down to watch a movie and, halfway through, begin to think that either
  a) this movie was made with you specifically in mind or b) that this is the type of movie that you wish you directed. Halfway through Thelma, I felt both of those things.
