    This was a bit of a surprise bag.

    I went in expecting a psychedelic movie and got more of a Big Trouble in Little China experience.

    The fast-paced goofy action in this works astoundingly well with its unfitting for that purpose characters. The fight scene choreography is honestly one of its strongest points.

    I suppose my main issue with this movie series is that it's even more of a convoluted jumbled up soup than the original.

    In the original series and its conclusions there were still options. You could focus on the human politics layer, the teenage drama layer, the sci-fi layer, the religion vs. science layer, the parent-child layer...and as you were shifting your focus you were capable of exploring the details of that layer and how it connects to the rest…
