  Powerful performances. Great photography. An amazingly executed modest plot. The most energetic and intense film I've seen in a long time. It draws you in and captivates you through its 107-minute running time. Neiman is blank enough to be greatly relatable, yet has enough personality to be his own very distinct character. And Fletcher is such a well-made and well-performed character. An instant favorite and an easy 5-out-of-5.

  Completely glosses over everything that made Amenábar's original great, dumbs down the script and tries to make it up with editing that's flashier than it needs to be. Tom Cruise doesn't help.
