Midnight Mass.
Plot 8/10.
Acting 7/10
Effects and Creature Design 9/10
Overall 8.5/10
Midnight Mass was extremely original in its premise and retelling of a story that's been done thousands of times. Literally a breath of fresh air in the vampire genre. The story is incredibly slow burn but with a payoff that will leave your eyes wide and jaw dropped.
Taking an idea as old as religious practice and combining it with the themes of ancient evil and bigotry, leaves us to ponder some of the biggest questions in the universe.
The series was "limited" to 7 episodes, but it's implications and originality were unbound.
This review may contain spoilers. I can handle the truth.
As a long time fan of horror and this franchise, I was very disappointed. This felt like a Lifetime drama featuring a Michael Myers cameo. To be marketed as the big final showdown between Laurie and Michael and it actually be "Halloween: the Corey Story" was abysmal.
Not every horror movie icon needs a legacy, or to pass the mask.

A wonderful call back to classic horror.
I thoroughly enjoyed WbN, and frankly believe Marvel would benefit greatly from doing more of these hour long "One Shots."
Excellent direction, soundtrack, and cinematography. Well done.
