Anora 2024
Wonderful central performance, some good comedic performances, and the plot does a good job capturing one way oligarchs and other filthy rich treat those outside their class as disposable objects and playthings to violate and forget. That said, the bulk of the movie is basically a lot of driving around and frustrated yelling. And I can't shake the thought that the entire movie is sneakily misogynistic - it panders to the male gaze in myriad gross ways while pretending to be interested in Ani's humanity and heart.

I’m shocked at how kind everyone is being in their review of this unbelievably tepid, corny, and clichéd film. It’s an oxygen tank full of sulfur. Forgettable score by John McIntire, tries to raise its profile, but it’s hopeless.
