  definitely an epic film. holds up really well today besides some of the obvious factual errors like “Roman salutes.” the leprosy subplot doesn’t make a lot of sense and honestly detracts from the triumph of Judah over Messala. if they ended on that it would have been way more tied up. but I guess they need an excuse for Jesus randomly cropping up the whole movie
