Dog Day Afternoon 1975
Love the pacing, it feels like the whole day goes by in these 2 hours but it never feels slow... everything that needs to be shown is shown, and all of the filler isn't. Love the shots that are entirely focused on one person, such as the phone call between Leon and Sonny. Taxi Driver 1976
The colors in this movie paint a picture like none else... sometimes, in the night shots, I can see the camera crying. The greens, yellows and reds in this movie really pop, which you would hope with the constant traffic lights just by the nature of the film... but it's really beautiful. The light of the streetlamps hitting Travis' face in the cab as he slowly looks around to the smooth, jazzy soundtrack is just sublime.
