Muddled movie - the themes are unclear, the character motivations for their actions are unclear, the plot doesn’t feel like it follows any emotional through-line. At the end I’m just frustrated on their fumbled portrayal of both the realities of gender transitioning AND amends-making for systemic cartel violence.

The Brutalist 2024
This movie was so good, the cinematography and score created were stunning.
It felt like Joe Wright directed the Zone of Interest: the unsettling sound scape contrasting each frame that so lovingly and romantically crafted.
However… the themes and story lines didn’t fully come together in the last act, leaving the characters feeling distant when I wanted to feel closest to them.
What a gorgeous movie, one to see only once and then remember onwards.
