  waited for so long for a theatrical release in Belgium and finally got the chance to watch it tonight. I found it overrated for the lack of better words. Being familiar with Kapadia’s work i expected way more than this. For me some aesthetics choices didn’t make sense like the piano, voice over and pretentious dialogues. The pace of the film doesn’t do for the film. It’s so slow that I wanted to leave halfway. I didn’t feel invested in any of the characters whatsoever.

  this movie has my heart. it is so real and sad, it killed me. it also made me believe that art is the only way to make our voices heard in this chaos of politics. i love how it is shot, the cinematographer takes you to the place and make you feel like you are with Zain the whole time, you want to help him, guide him and hug him.
