Whiplash 2014
Great movie. The only reason I’m giving it 4/5 stars is because I wasn’t a fan of the ending. I thought it was a bit cheesy, and I couldn’t picture that happening in real life.
Other than that though I loved the main question this movie posed, which was “Where is the line when pushing someone to be their best selves?” I felt like what happened to the drummers was a perfect representation of what occurs when someone crosses the line. Some people get discouraged, others fight back, and others take a different route.
Lastly the movie made me laugh a bit, which is a plus.

5/5 stars in my book. It was very thought provoking, especially the scene with the old man talking about his friend that froze to death, asking the cynical question, “Does God believe in us?”
Another thought provoking scene I liked was the repeated story about the person who jumps off the building.
Lastly, I loved how raw the dialogue was. It made me feel like I was in the movie with the guys.
