the bear certainly is on cocaine. this is shown at many points (via the bear doing cocaine) and the characters often reiterate it (with such statements as "the bear! it fucking did cocaine!". in no way could a person possibly be disappointed by this movie's commitment to living up to expectations.

overall feels optimized for Being Provocative rather than actually provoking interesting discussion. the twist doesn't hold up to questioning and it doesn't feel like that's because it's intended to be thought-provoking, rather that the worldbuilding stopped short at the shocking twist. and the twist itself is such a first-level, second-wave-feminism take. there's no subversion and nothing new here.
i also find it frankly astonishing that olivia wilde described this as "a film focused on female pleasure" given that florence pugh…
