Yeah okay, Matthew Broderick was definitely distractingly bad here. The rest of the cast are pretty great, but the movie thrust onto the viewer scene after scene from and for Broderick’s character, when this would have likely been much more compelling almost entirely from all of the other points of view. The letter motif to string together the narrative was cliched and characterless.
Frustrating, because this movie isn’t awful, just not nearly as good as it could have been, considering all of the pieces.
