  The craft is there, the script is not.

  The only message in this film that isn’t self-conflicting is unintentionally confirming the message in The Substance.

  You can only get so far with an unlikable protagonist. Mikey does well with no help from the script.

  Hilarious how every character in this movie is constantly trying to convince the audience that this movie is bigger than the first.

  It’s not. The stakes are not there. It’s basically a way less personal, hollow rehash of the first movie with worse songs, pacing and characters.

  The only thing bigger about this movie was the billion dollar payday Disney tricked us all into blindly handing them along with our dignity.

  It has all of the grandiose you want from the original, with none of the profound commentary. However, the ending was brilliant and shocking.
