I mean, this is a masterpiece in my opinion. Stunning costumes and set design expert performances from a nearly perfect cast. I so enjoy the use of practical effects and makeup. The gothic ambience is appropriately melodramatic and dark. I could go on for ages. Eggers "The Witch" was one of the first horror movies that I really loved, but "Noaferatur is my favorite film to date from this director.
I very much enjoyed this view into a complicated family relationship. Themes of mental health, jealousy, privilege. I found it very touching.
Hated the kitchen miming scène, and legitimately could have turned it off. It actually won me over though. I thought it was a fun mystery, and they gave the audience some credit by not over-explaining.
