Finally got to see this iconic OG movie of all movies that inspired so many that came after.
Much like its villain, The Night of the Hunter is assertive, focused, purposeful, and irresistibly charming in its forthright storytelling. Every character is so well fleshed out, each with their own enigma, flair, and drive—uncle Birdie, Ms. Icey, Willa Harper, Ben Harper—and the potential here for character studies is inexhaustible.
