  Usually when I cry during a film it is a direct response to something that is happening on screen; a certain look, word, sentence or scene. With Close I was crying because I was so so sad, when the tears started falling they didn’t stop coming. Have not felt this genuinely sad and upset and in pain from a film in a long time. Beautifully executed, and so painful.

  This film says so much that I can’t say. It is as depressing as it is soothing. I watched all of the credits and started googling the names of the people who appeared as interns during the production of the film, just to see how they are doing now, as suddenly I was consumed by this thought that they are also not just interns at a film, extras in some story, but leads in their own lives. I don’t know.…
