I Lost My Body 2019
This movie is original, it’s beautifully animated and uses a visceral and simple metaphor to explore loss and identity. This is a good example of how powerful simple stories that have a point can be.

Underworld 2003
It’s not perfect but this underrated goth-vampire horror/action is a classic in my book. It’s easily the best vampire/action movie and has some really interesting and compelling characters. It has great practical effects, memorable action sequences, dark and intriguing cinematography, and it’s metal as hell. Along with Tom Raider and Resident Evil, it’s a great girl power movie! Like those films I think underworld is best enjoyed as a stand alone movie followed by multiple sequels that don’t really follow through in any meaningful way. Call it a guilty pleasure … but I sure like this one!
