Made me realise how great hp is. In the first 30 mins we have cringe americanisation and obtuse sexualisation of women for the plot. Lame. I thought any time spent in the hp universe would be great but really could have gone without this one. Felt like I was watching a low grade marvel series.

Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street 2007
Maybe I'm not one for musicals - this is my first one. But I think the lyrics could have been better / the dialogue. I also wasn't really fond of the weird 'pretty girls' obsession and desire to possess Johanna - i think that was her name? It was just a bit, meh. The overall ambience though was great.

The cinematography and editing really carried this movie for me. The fight scenes were exquisite but the story left wanting. More than wanting, it left the viewer starved. It was just an empty revenge plotline. There were so many opportunities to use the world created. And it gave hints here and there for something deeper but it never developed.
The political scene was never developed, nor were any of the other characters. I also don't understand the value of all…
