This is my favourite film of this genre, mostly because it avoids the glorification of the action taking place. It's uncomfortable, just like the real war on drugs and the everyday violence it inflicts on its victims.

Emily Blunt does a fantastic job as an FBI agent exposed to the realities of the operations undertaken by the nation she serves. More than that, her delivery wholeheartedly made me empathise with her and she tries to do the right thing in…

I'm not sure if I love or hate this movie. In hindsight, it's a very noughties film and hasn't aged well in that respect, but it has a certain charm to it.

The performances are excellent, including Justin Timberlake's weird character. Jesse Eisenberg nails the ADHD-fuelled young adult Zuck.

I'm also a nerd, and I like biopics about nerds.

On a technical level, this film is great. On a narrative level, there’s so much missed potential. Also A24 should be fined for the misleading marketing in the run-up to release.

Her was truly a decade (if not more) ahead of its time. Its brilliance lies in the way it avoids long-winded technical explanations that might bore non-technical viewers. Instead, it offers just enough detail to progress the storyline. This film is designed to make you uncomfortable, provoking thought about the sociological impact of future technological advancements.
