The Love Witch 2016
Literally, I can watch this movie several times, and EVERY SINGLE TIME, I’LL LOVE IT. I felt a connection with Elaine when she said, “The day he left me was the day that I died. But then I was reborn as a witch.” That line felt so personal to me hahaha.
But talking about the movie—first, the ambiance. At first, I thought it was an old movie, but then I realized it wasn’t. I really love how the director “mixed”…

The filter was like Twilight, but backwards. When Joy was in the U.S., the filter was yellow and warm—I think it represented her desire to be successful, but with innocence. She didn’t know how everything was going to unfold there. But as the movie progressed, the filter became more bluish, colder, reflecting her anger and the disappointment of seeing her dreams slip away.
For me, it was a masterpiece—I really loved the movie (maybe because it’s about ballet, and I love ballet movies). But yeah, in the end, I could really feel Joy’s frustration and, of course, the sadness. Her ego was broken too
