  Every detail in the movie was surprisingly very close to the book, except I would’ve liked for the story to take place in the south of Italy because Naples gives Ferrante’s books their character… Leda is from Boston and Bristol and Queens??? So confusing

  The film felt so detached, it didn’t do much to contextualize life before the shows, and most of all I don’t think it did anything to celebrate him, it took an investigative perspective to “understand” his death

  
  Also the heart of darkness motif they used while explaining his trip to the Congo felt so wrong I couldn’t watch. Neocolonial and of bad taste. Another example of the film missing the point of it all
