I'll start with the disclaimer that this film lives up to its controversial reputation. Certain scenes are very hard to watch, and it's not for everyone. I also have not read the Huxley novel that it is based on, so where in plot or content it departs or stays true, I cannot comment on, but having watched the film, I would be excited to read the book and find out.

If you are willing to suspend your disbelief, you will be rewarded with this experience.
The cadence of the plot doesn't necessarily hum along at a smooth clip, and the dialogue gets a little watered down with verbose academic exchanges in places—maybe a little too much emphasis script-wise on making the fantastic elements "intellectually viable".
That being said, the film is a masterpiece of what I would call magic surrealism. It executes well what most psychological thrillers grasp at egregiously,…
