An environmentalist's anime if I've ever seen one. More Ghibli naturalism, and one of the grimmest worlds I've seem them create. When reality is cold and harsh, we look to stories of hope and light in the darkness. I think that there are some among us now that hope for nature to be a brazen as it is here, in order to repair the damage humans have done. "There is no reason to live if our lives depend on a monster". If only, some compassion and understanding could have such effects back home.
