  kyle maclachlan is so beautiful and gorgeous in this movie.

  I really enjoyed some of the visual symbolism and theming, and i understand why they showed the freaky sex stuff, but it’s not especially my jam and i tend to avoid movies that have assault as a key aspect. i also think the romance between the main two characters was a little underdeveloped, which was a missed opportunity.

  but all in all i liked the dynamics of the suburbia setting with underlying darkness, and i’ll always be down to stare at kyle maclachlan for 2 hours

  A lot of the direction of this movie is fun and creative! the director also did carrie, and it shows. This movie is goofy and a fun cult classic, but lost half a star just because it has some very 70s jokes that didn’t age the best. it kinda has the same vibes as repo the genetic opera, where it really just feels like it was one guy’s weird alternate passion project

  This movie has almost zero stakes, and is astonishingly gay. Like, the world isn’t ending, no one is trying to explode the planet, they just get REALLY mad for some reason. Lots of explosions, an almost impossible amount of explosions, to be real
