Presence 2024
A movie I've seen before, just not done in this way. I don't mean literally, but the story of this movie has been done before(and better). Kudos to the Cam op who had to know his exact marks to pull off this visual stunt. I found the family dynamic interesting, but nothing special, and I would've liked the movie more if they didn't have the cliche psychic lady show up halfway through.
The ghost having to physically walk up the stairs made me chuckle, and what kind of ghost can't go through doors and walls? Weak ass ghost.

Overall, very torn on this movie. I enjoy the cinematography and the message of the movie, but the actual story and pacing falls in line with a lot of other Japanese horror films, if not worse.
A movie about ghosts taking over the world using the internet would probably work better today than it did 23 years ago. Using the internet and advancing technology as a theme of loneliness in the world, kinda loses itself about half way through since…
