  A watered down biopic where even if you did know who Maria Callas was, you’d leave the theater feeling like you didn’t learn anything new or truly get to know her at all. 

  It’s gorgeously shot, sure, but that’s about the only takeaway. Angelina Jolie’s performance as Maria Callas is very much just exactly that - Angelina Jolie playing Maria Callas. Nothing in the film really transcends, despite trying so hard to do so.

  Once you realize that all this film does is cater to some fucked up toxic male fantasy, you’ll realize why most of Noè’s die hard fans are teenagers going through their “edgy cinema” phase thinking this is some kind of work of art. There is literally not one enjoyable minute of this garbage.

  “It’s a fairytale town, isn’t it? How’s a fairytale town not somebody’s fucking thing?“

  By far the best dark comedy I’ve ever seen. It just ticks all the boxes for me, beginning to end. 

  I also have a new insult to add to my list of insults.
