there are things to love — a red wedding dress (gasped…. i need it…..), really sweet family dynamics, ginger babies!! (can’t wait to be an aunt to maya griffin spawn) — but then also there’s also the fact that the protagonist basically just manipulates everyone in his life and is never held…
total breakfast movie. 2 stars and it’s only because i’ve been down bad for nikesh patel since FWAAF and he plays a nerd in this :)
entertaining, political, institutional. unfortunately i did cry like a baby when they showed rehearsal footage from nirvana’s first performance on the show
two people putting it all on the line. blowing up their lives/careers/relationships for the chance at seeing what this spark might be. pretty romantic to me, and set in a baseball stadium to the beach boys? swoon. i don’t care that he’s her english teacher.
i will say. and this is so important. that drew barrymore had been kissed before. you can’t call the movie never been kissed and then have her say “oh i’ve been kissed, i haven’t been in love” — those are two very different things girl!
